Kim Driscoll and other administration officials Thursday to provide more detailed information about the flow of migrants into their communities, including the volume of people seeking housing and the overall price tag to the commonwealth.Grappling with rising costs to the emergency shelter system without an immediate solution in sight, the Healey administration might also be gearing up to ask the Legislature for more money, one Republican representative signaled to reporters. In the closed-door meeting Thursday afternoon, representatives also aired their concerns over the federal government’s inaction on expediting the monthslong work authorization process, which elected leaders say has prevented migrants from earning money to support themselves and their families.“The communication has been less than desirable from all aspects down to the municipal level,” Majority Leader Mic...

Patriots see prospective rookie Week 1 contributors ‘performing at a high level’ FOXBORO — It was hard to miss the Patriots’ top three picks in the 2023 NFL Draft for most of the summer.First-round pick Christian Gonzalez was an immediate mainstay in the Patriots’ starting defense, seemingly locked into a first-team role at cornerback. Defensive end Keion White, a second-round pick, was stressing the Patriots’ offensive linemen as a pass rusher while being mixed into different units, and third-rounder Marte Mapu was being deployed anywhere from linebacker to free safety. The Sacramento State product is listed as a linebacker but primarily warmed up with defensive backs this preseason.Gonzalez is expected to start Sunday against the Eagles in the Patriots’ season opener. It wouldn’t be a major surprise to see White and Mapu take on major roles, as well.Related ArticlesNew England Patriots | Patriots mailbag: Predicting Pats’ top receiver in 2023 New England Patriots | Callahan: Bill O’Brie...
