PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — Officials in a southeast Florida city have canceled a gay pride parade and restricted other pride events to people 21 years and older in anticipation of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signing a bill meant to keep children out of drag shows.The Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast posted Wednesday on Facebook that the decision to change this Saturday’s Pridefest events was made after multiple conversations with Port St. Lucie officials. A search continued Thursday for four missing boaters after officials said the group went on a fishing trip Wednesday and disappeared. SKY7-HD captured video several miles off Cape Ann Thursday after officials said they found an overturned boat during their search. Despite the find, officials said there was no sign of the boaters nearby. The United States Coast Guard Northeast said multiple teams have been searching for Michael Sai and three other people who departed from Hampton, New Hampshire, with plans to head to a fishing spot near Jeffreys Ledge, some 50 miles offshore.Authorities shared an image of the boat the four individuals were believed to be in, described as a 17-foot white center console.Soon after sharing the image Thursday afternoon, officials said an “overturned vessel” was located by Coast Guard aircraft some seven miles northeast of Cape Ann.“No persons in the water were observed. A person was taken to an area hospital Thursday after being hit by a car at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Beacon Street, officials said. Police taped off the scene Thursday afternoon and blocked off part of the road around the crash site. An electric scooter could be seen laying on the side of the road. Officials said the injuries for the person hit by the vehicle are believed to be non-life-threatening. Boston Marathon organizers are apologizing for an incident involving spectators along the route of this yearâs race where members of two racially diverse running clubs said police were called to curb their enthusiasm because of the color of their skin. The incident happened in Newton. Officials from the Boston Athletic Association have since issued a statement addressing the topic, saying they were wrong to call police.âIt seems like youâre using some kind of implicit bias to single us out and say that âWell this group must be doing something wrong, look at them.ââ said Mike Remy, a member of the PIONEERS Runners Club. York Regional Police have released images of a suspect believed to be behind multiple sexual assaults at bus shelters in Vaughan.Police said on March 27, between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., a 17-year-old woman was sitting on a bench at a bus shelter in the Fisherman’s Way and Edgeley Boulevard area when a man sat beside her and touched her inappropriately.After the assault, the female victim left on a bus, and the male suspect fled the scene on foot.On April 10, just before 3 p.m., police said a 23-year-old woman was sitting on a bench at a bus shelter in the Weston Road and Rutherford Road area when a man touched her inappropriately when he walked past her.Investigators believe the same man is responsible for both incidents.The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years old, Black, with a tall and heavy build.He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt (with Glow written across the front), olive track pants, a white Toronto Raptors ball cap and white running shoes.Latest news
