ST. LOUIS - Officers are investigating a carjacking that took place Saturday night in St. Louis City.The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. on the 700 block of North 13th Street, where the victim was sitting inside her Nissan Altima and was approached by an armed suspect in her passenger's seat. The victim shared that the suspect announced the robbery and then demanded her to exit the vehicle. Kirkwood police searching for missing teenager The suspect immediately fled the scene after. (KTXL) -- Sixteen migrants from El Paso, Texas were left at the doorstep of the Sacramento Catholic Diocese on Friday with everything they own stuffed in their backpacks. According to authorities, the migrants were brought to Sacramento with the promise of being brought to another migrant center where they would be provided jobs and other free support. California Attorney General Rob Bonta said an investigation is being carried out to determine where the migrants originated and other potential civil and criminal charges. OAKLAND — A man was found dead late Saturday night inside a burning truck in the East Oakland hills, authorities said.The coroner’s office was trying to confirm the man’s identity and contact his relatives before releasing his name.An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.The man was found dead after firefighters were called about a pick-up truck on fire about 11:44 p.m. Saturday in the 9500 block of Mountain Boulevard, a mostly residential area next to Interstate 580 and west of Calafia Avenue.It took firefighters until about midnight to put the fire out. HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — A wildfire that forced thousands of residents from their homes in Canada’s Atlantic Coast province of Nova Scotia is now contained, while a second wildfire remains out of control, officials said Sunday.Nova Scotia’s natural resources department said the Tantallon fire northwest of Halifax is now under control, meaning it is not expected to grow but is not yet out. The blaze broke out a week ago, forcing 16,000 people from their suburban homes and destroying some 200 structures, including 151 homes.But in Shelburne County in southwest Nova Scotia the largest in the province’s history continues to burn out of control.
