Albany school staffer, youth sports worker charged with unlawful surveillance ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Latham residents were arrested and are accused of unlawful surveillance, one being an employee of the City School District of Albany, and another being involved in local youth sports. On Friday, around 5:17 p.m., troopers received information that inappropriate photos of children were being exchanged on the internet. Police say an investigation found Koldis and White reportedly took the pictures of a child without their knowledge while compromising positions. Koldis is employed by the City School District of Albany, and White is actively involved in local youth sports. Koldis was placed on administrative leave from Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School after her arrest, per police. Both were arrested and taken to Latham State Police for processing. A short time later, police received word Sullivan had succumbed to her injuries at the hospital and was declared dead.Police identified Irelan as the driver of the motorcycle. Man dies, two others hurt in highway crash near Rolla PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. - One man has died and two others a hurt after a highway crash Sunday afternoon near Rolla.The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that James E. Clark, 62, of Rolla, died from the crash. A 56-year-old man and 63-year-old woman from Florissant, Missouri, were also hurt in the collision. Corpse flower now blooming at Missouri Botanical Garden The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Highway 63, roughly six miles south of Rolla city limits. According to the crash report, investigators say Clark was making a left turn and failed to yield to a vehicle with two others. The collision caused Clark's vehicle to overturn, while the other vehicle went off the roadway and ended up in a ditch. Clark was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other man and woman involved in the crash are hospitalized with "moderate" injuries, according to MSHP. MSHP Troop I, which covers part of south central Missouri, is investigating the crash.

Motorcyclist killed in crash that forced closure along Hampden Avenue in Englewood Englewood police investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist appealed for public help.The crash happened Sunday around 2:50 p.m. on Hampden Avenue west of South Broadway. It forced the closure of eastbound Hampden for more than three hours, according to an Englewood Police Department news release. An accident reconstruction team was working at the scene.The victim was not identified. No other information was released. Thousands of L.A. renters may face eviction as COVID back rent payment deadline approaches  Tuesday marks the deadline for tenants in Los Angeles to pay back the rent they couldn’t pay during the COVID-19 pandemic, and tenant advocates are wary of a spike in homelessness during the city's current housing crisis. The rent due on Aug. 1 is for the first year and a half of the pandemic. Many renters said they simply don’t have the ability to pay thousands of dollars in the next 24 hours and that they are starting to worry about being evicted, but landlords claimed that they have been waiting for the money for 18 months and can’t wait much longer. “Wages are not comparable to the rents,” said one tenant at a rally. “We know that [Karen Bass] did a lot last week for the unhoused, but we are going to have many, many more unhoused if we don’t have a permanent eviction plan in place.”  Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will be holding a press conference on Monday to discuss both landlord and tenant rights and what resources might be available to renters who don’t ha...

Man found dead in car, 2 others critically injured in Norwalk shooting One person was found dead in his car and two other people were wounded in a shooting in Norwalk Sunday night.The shooting was reported around 8:40 p.m. in the 12700 block of Pioneer Boulevard near Firestone Boulevard. The unidentified man had been shot multiple times, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Violent Topanga crash leaves 2 hospitalized; street racing reported in area A man and a woman in the area were also found with gunshot wounds. They were transported in critical condition. Shooting report on 10 Freeway closes EB lanes through East Los Angeles The Eastbound 10 Freeway was at a standstill through the East Los Angeles area after a vehicle was reportedly struck by gunfire Monday morning. The incident near the Campus Road offramp was called in shortly before 4 a.m., California Highway Patrol officials confirmed.Officers investigate a shooting report on the 10 Freeway on July 31, 2023. (KTLA)One vehicle was believed to have been struck by gunfire but there was no word on whether anyone was struck or injured.Video showed a white Honda CRV was still on the freeway in the area where the investigation was taking place.
