DOH proposing changes to detect toxins in water ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- The state could be upgrading guidelines for our drinking water. The Department of Health proposed a plan to notify New Yorkers about toxic chemicals known as PFAS. Right now, New Yorkers are only notified about two PFAS chemicals. The Department's proposal would set notification levels for an additional 23 that show up at a level between two and five parts per trillion.  Popeyes opens new location in Latham According to DOH some items that contain PFAS include food packaging, paint and varnish, pesticides and more. Man convicted in Lansingburgh murder case LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Brooklyn man has been found guilty of second-degree murder, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office. Man arrested, charged in Overland homicide OVERLAND, Mo. - A suspect accused of fatally shooting an Overland man earlier this week is behind bars. The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis announced the arrest Friday of Gavon Simmons, 26, in connection with the death of Gersain Rugerio-Rodriguez, 28. Prosecutors have charged Simmons with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Protests over Francis Howell plan to allow anti-racism resolution to expire Overland police responded to the shooting just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 9400 block of Baltimore Avenue, not far from Midland Boulevard. Officers found the victim, Rugerio-Rodriguez, laying at the end of the driveway at his home. Police learned Rugerio-Rodriguez was in his driveway with friends when a gunman drove by and opened fire.
