AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas' electric grid operator said it expects "tight grid conditions" Saturday and is asking Texans to reduce energy use from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, said operating reserves are expected to be low Saturday afternoon and evening because of low wind generation, potentially low solar generation and high demand. This is the third consecutive day the electric grid operation has asked Texans to conserve electric use. PREVIOUS: ‘Tight’ Texas grid conditions expected for 2nd straight day ERCOT said emergency operations were avoided Friday because of conservation efforts and additional grid reliability tools. These include using reserve power, asking for reductions from large electric customers that have volunteered to lower energy use and adding more generation online sooner. The grid operator said it is asking all government agencies to implement programs to reduce energy use at their facilities. MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester United came from two goals down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday as Bruno Fernandes’ 76th-minute penalty completed a comeback after the visitors went down to 10 men. United had its worst-ever start to a Premier League game as poor defending helped give Forest a 2-0 lead after less than four minutes. Taiwo Awoniyi put Forest ahead on a counterattack after just 86 seconds, with Willy Boly quickly doubling the lead from a free kick. It was the first time United trailed by two goals four minutes into a Premier League match, but Christian Eriksen pulled one back by converting a cross from Marcus Rashford in the 17th.Casemiro wasted a great chance to level but made amends shortly after halftime when the midfielder slotted home at the end of a clever free kick routine.Joe Worrall was shown a straight red card for denying Fernandes a goalscoring opportunity in the 67th, and the United captain then scored the winner f...El diario de BTK vincula al asesino en serie con un joven de 16 años que desapareció hace décadas, dicen las autoridades

Los...Andersen grabs late equalizer for Crystal Palace in 1-1 draw at Brentford

BRENTFORD, England (AP) — Joachim Andersen’s equalizer secured Crystal Palace a 1-1 draw against unbeaten Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.A first-half stunner from Kevin Schade gave the Bees an early lead at the Gtech Community Stadium before Andersen leveled in the 76th minute. After a dominant 3-0 win away at Fulham last week, Thomas Frank’s Brentford failed to put the game to bed which allowed the Eagles to claim a point in west London. After a quiet start from both sides, Palace burst into life through the creative Eberechi Eze. The midfielder, recently linked with a move to Manchester City, hustled to win back the ball before feeding Odsonne Edouard who was dispossessed before testing Mark Flekken. But it was the Bees who struck first in the 18th minute.Schade picked up the ball on the left hand side before driving at the Palace backline and producing a spectacular curled strike into Sam Johnstone’s top-left corner, recording his first goal for the club. Not long after,...Pre-med Florida junior Leanne Wong chases a spot on the US Olympic gymnastics team

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Leanne Wong almost begged her professor at the University of Florida for a little extra time before turning in the first assignment for a health course in her pre-med major.Wong had something else pretty important on the schedule, she explained.Classes in Gainesville started last week and the paper was due Friday. One problem: Friday was the first night of the U.S. Gymnastics Championships across the country in Northern California. The professor agreed to give her an extension until Monday.“It was a long email,” Wong said with a grin.Maybe she could have just asked her professor to turn on the TV to catch the teenager more than holding her own in a field that includes Olympic champions Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee.Rocking a hand-made, glittery baby-blue bow that held her hair in a tight bun, Wong posted an all-around total score of 55.350, good enough for fourth place heading into Sunday’s finals.“I think I did really well today and it’s a gre...Video de infarto: globo aerostático aterriza en medio de una autopista de EEUU

BERLIN (AP) — Robin Gosens scored twice after his first-ever Bundesliga start in 10-man Union Berlin’s 4-1 win at Darmstadt, and Borussia Dortmund was again held 1-1 by Bochum on Saturday.Another Dortmund disappointment at local rival Bochum rekindled memories of their 1-1 draw last season, when Dortmund was denied what officials later agreed was a clear penalty decision. That draw arguably cost Dortmund the title.United States midfielder Brenden Aaronson was sent off with two early cards in Union’s win, but the 29-year-old Gosens starred as the visitors recovered to score four goals for the third consecutive game across all competitions. LONDON (AP) — Joao Palhinha scored in the 87th minute to give 10-man Fulham a 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday. Arsenal gifted Fulham the lead after just 57 seconds after a defensive howler but came back to lead 2-1 thanks to second-half goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah. But the hosts couldn’t see out the win as Palhinha was left unmarked to slot home a corner for the late equalizer. That was despite Fulham going a man down when Calvin Bassey was shown a second yellow card in the 83rd. Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus came on for his first appearance of the season after a knee injury but the Gunners couldn’t find a winner through nine minutes of injury time. It was Arsenal’s first dropped points of the campaign after opening with two wins, and the setback was largely self-inflicted.Fulham took an early lead when Saka misplayed a back pass, sending Andreas Pereira through on goal with goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale stranded well outside his area...Latest news
